Scholarships from Vidayposhak, Dharwad India

Vidya Poshak, India is a registered NGO working towards rejuvenating the culture of giving among individuals and institutions to empowering student community from economically challenged families.

Mission: Empowering student community

Objectives:

  • Financial Assistance to meritorious students who are finding it difficult to continue their higher education due to financial difficulties
  • Motivate peoples' participation at large to contribute for the development of education
  • To enhance greater employability through skill based training
  • Provide free text books to economically constrained meritorious students

Current projects:

  • Nurture Merit: To support meritorious but poor students for continuing higher education.
  • Library and Book bank: To provide free text books to our student beneficiaries.
  • Training: To enhance employment opportunities for young graduates through training on soft skills.

Accomplishments till date

  • For 4500 students, a sum of more than Rs. 25 million has been distributed as financial assistance in last 5 years covering 26 districts of Karnataka
  • Distributed more than 10000 text books to meritorious but poor students through 12 libraries/ learning centers
  • More than 5500 students trained on global skills and around 700 students were placed in multi-national companies
  • More than 300 volunteers rendering service across 21 districts of Karnataka
  • Linked students to other premier organizations like FFE, California and Sir Ratan Tata Trust, Mumbai
